Project Description

Dear You Painting

My friend Kim was in Costa Rica last year at a yoga camp and a photographer there took some great photos of her. I ask her if I could do a painting from one of the photos. I did some photoshop work to the photo and took out the background. I then played with some ideas for the background and thought of the beach. I’m not sure where the idea of the scarf flying in came from but Kim says that was her vision while meditating in Costa Rica.

The thoughts came from an email shared by Nick Ortner of With his permission I used the words in the Fabric Mosaic. I find this very motivating. Let’s stop procrastinating starting today!

Thoughts included in the painting (fabric mosaic):

“Dear You! I’m sorry, but there’s no more time. We can’t wait any longer for your greatness to shine. We can’t afford for you to procrastinate your incredible dreams, vision and ideas any longer. We need the greatest version of yourself, that loving, kind, compassionate, brilliant, world-changing YOU and we need you NOW. Signed, Humanity.”
